Comparative figures for the corresponding period in 1938 are shown in parentheses : Outward traffic. —Passengers, 2182 (3009) ; cattle and’ calves, 52-1 (305) ; sheep and pigs, 26,637 (29,265) ; timber, 240 tons (—) ; goods tonnage, 1334 (1306) ; passenger revenue, £770 (£848): parcel revenue, £BO (£65) ; goods revenue, £3549 (£3302) ; miscellaneous revenue, £3 (£11) ; total revenue. £-1413 (£4229). Inward traffic.—Cattle and calves. •504 ( 254) ; sheep and pigs, 5209 (8646); timber, 97 tons (117 tons); goods tonnage, 1220 (1390) ; parcels revenue, £7O (£67) ; goods revenue, £1775 (£1790) ; total revenue, £1845 (£1857)! Commenting on the figures, Mr Croudis said that the adverse weather over the holiday period had been responsible for the decrease in the number of passengers. Revenue, both inward and outward, have been buoyant and the parcels and goods revenue had slightly reflected the 10 per cent, increase in rates. Smaller sales in Felding had resulted in fewer sheep being railed, but it would lie. noted that substantially more cattle had been trucked. Over all the position was quite satisfactory.
