AUSTRALIAN DEFENCES.

POWERFUL RADIO STATIONS. Received January 25, 1.30 p.m. DARWIN. Jan. 25. Two long-range radio stations which will cost about £40,000 will be erected near Darwin this year by the Common wealth Government for use by the Roval Australian Navy. The stations will be among the most powerful in the world and will be erected as one of the principal links in the chain of defence of British waters south of the Tropic of Cancer. They are intended to form part of Australia’s development of Darwin os a southern adjunct of Singapore.
