Boot, tho New Zealand Empire Games representative who sails to-day for Sydney to compete in the New South Wales championships, broke the 600 yards track record of I min 13 2-ssec, made by R . Johnston (South Africa) at Masterton. Paced by a relay of runners, Boot did the distance in Imin I3sec. A. L. Fitch, the American coach, paced by a cyclist, clipped 2-ssoc off tho 440 yards track record of 49 4-5, established by Parker (U.S.A.) in 1926.
