FOOTBALL BARRACKERS.

REBUKE BY A VICAR. LONDON. Jan. 12. Barracking and lack of sportsmanship in English football continue to engage the attention of the newspapers. The latest attack is by a Liverpool vicar. Rev. J. M. Swift, with the approval of the Bishop of Liverpool. Air Swift condemns booing and barracking. He says that players “overstep the bounds 'of ordinary, swearing. Nothing,” lie adds, “justifies the booing with which decisions .against the home team are received, nor the jeering when a visitor attempts a penalty. I wonder if the sportsmanship of which we are proud is worthy of the name.” Football officials retort that the crowds are well-behaved and may boo if they wish to.
