SENSATION IN CAIRO.
KING FAROUK’S ACTION. Received January 21, 1.40 p.m. CAIRO, Jan. 20. King Farouk created a sensation today by unprecedentedly replacing the priest conducting the service at the Quosoun Mosque, after which tlie congregation hailed him as the Caliph of Islam.
The King’s reception proved that he would receive representative support as leader of a united Arab front. His action is accepted as a sign that he is willing to assume the world leadership of Islam.
