(From Our Own Correspondent.) SHANNON, Dec. 16. Mrs it. Lind entertained her pupils, their parents and friends at another ot ller very popular annual parties oil Thursday afternoon,. when, besides the many local guests, Mrs E. ltiekard and Mrs and Miss Whittaker, of Palmerston North, were present. While the pupils enjoyed competitions in a marquee on the lawn, the adults enjoyed generous hospitality indoors and an exciting competition was won by Mrs Lepper, who received a small tropliy. An enjoyable programme was presented as follows: Pianoforte 'solo, Doris Haynes; pianoforte duet, Helene Gronquest and Bruce Lind; pianoforte solos, Alary Clark and Mavis Ecpper; ' song, Mrs Gronquest; pianoforte duet, lona fcSehiple and Graham Edwards; -pianoforte solos, Richard Lind and Clarice Sinclair; song. Airs Aisilbio; pianoforte solo, Evelyn Williamson; trio, Airs Lind, Merle Hook and Joyce Southed; solo, Ted Barber; recitations, Aliss F. Whittaker; pianoforte solos, Helene Gronquest, Alcrle Hook, and Deidrc Leng-Ward; duet, Evelvn Williamson and Alary Clark; solo, Joyce SoiithcG; duet, Richard Lind and Ted Barber. Aire Rickard presented her special plizc for tho most improved pupil to Helene Cnoliquest, with Doris Haynes and Alcrle Hook running very close, and a special prize for honours gained in a theory examination was presented to Deidrc Lcrtg-Ward. Oh behalf of the pupils Clarice Sinclair presented Mrs Rickard with a dainty posy, and Airs Gronquest expressed the pupils’" gratitude and seasonable greetings to Airs Lind, and called on Alary Clark, who asked Airs Lind to accept a handsome electric table lamp with then good wishes. The school concert organised by, the teaching stuff, which was field on Thursday evening, was patronised by a full house. Although the programme did not allow for encores, each item received wolldcsfcrved applause. Several of the items were a display of the routine woi’k of the school during the year, and much credit is due to Air Sheddon (hcudinastet) and his eajiablo staff for the efficient training of the children.
