SEQUEL TO CRISIS.
Since the European crisis (says an English paper) commercial travellers all over the country have been bemoaning the dearth of orders in what in the ordinary way would be their most productive lines. One of these gentlemen of the road was sitting in his office writing laboriously and without enthusiasm when his employer came bustling into the room. “Hullo, Smith,” he remarked; “glad to see you are entering up some orders.” “I’m afraid I’m not, sir.” replied the traveller.. “Unfortunately there are none to be secured.”
“Ah. that’s bad, but keep pegging •away. Perhaps, however, von-are filling in the reports of your calls?” “No, sir, I’m not even doing that,” answered the dejected one; “I’m writing to Hitler to tell him that if he ‘wants any more territory he can have mine.”
