CRUISER ACHILLES.

RETURNING TO DOMINION. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON Nov. 21. The light cruiser Achilles, now refitting in England, is to be recommissioned for the New Zealand station. The Minister of Defence (Hon. F. Jones) anticipates that it will return to the Dominion about the middle of next year with a new commander and a proportion of Imperial ratings. It is intended, however, that 90 per cent, of the ship’s personnel will be provided from New Zealand ratings in accordance with. the policy of extending opportunities for New Zealanders in the Royal Navy.
