OBITUARY.

MRS JOSEPH GARDINER. The death occurred last week, at her residence, in Ranfurly Street, of Mrs Joseph Gardiner, who had resided in Palmerston North for 32 years. The deceased lady was born in Plymouth, England, 74 years ago, and came to the Dominion with her husband 32 years ago, settling in Palmerston North. She was of a very retiring disposition, but in a quiet way she did a great deal of good in the community. A splendid type of Christian woman, she was a staunch member of All Saints’ Church, and she enjoyed the esteem of many friends.

| The funeral took place on Friday, the service being conducted by Rev. D. de Candole. Messrs F. Gush, sour., Gush, junr., W. F. Cutler, and McSiiane acted as pall-bearers. A husband and one daughter (Mrs W. R. Ross, Palmerston North) are left, also two grandchildren
