COMIXG-OF-AGE. (From Our own Correspondent.) - , A PITI. Nov. 21. To celebrate the recent coming-of-age of their elder daughter Doris, Mr and Mrs Arthur Prince gave a delightful dance on hriday evening. There were between 60 and 70 guests, and dancing was enjoyed to music by Messrs J. Hansen (piano), It. Prince (saxophone) and B. Gardner, of Palmerston North (xylophone and drums). Extras were played by Mr F. Churchcr (on his piano-accordion). The hall had been prettily decorated with guelder roses, arum lilies, ferns and other greenery. Over the fireplace on the stage was hung a large silver horseshoe decorated with pink ribbons. Streamers, confetti and balloons added to the gaiety of tbe scene. Mr Gardner pleased with an xylophone solo and Mr McFarland, of Feilding, gave a yodelling item. Cards wero provided for the non-dancers. Supper was served by Mrs Prince and friends who assisted her. Mr W. McKay proposed the health of Miss Prince and she was accorded muiseal honours. Mr McKay also lit the candles on the beautiful pink and j silver cake (the artistic work of a cousin, Mrs Jack Eliot, of Tabic Flat) and tho [ guest of honour made the first cut. She I was also presented with a wonderful array of gifts. Miss Prince feelingly replied and thanked all for their good wishes. Her younger sister, Margaret, presented tho I traditional key. Miss Prince was wearing j a dainty frock of blush pink spot taffeta | with lace insets in the skirt, and a frilled I yoke with touches of silver and silver shoos to match. Mrs Arthur Prince was attired in black silk crepe-de-peau and black lace, and Miss Margaret Prince, delphinium blue marocain and gold. Among those present were: Mesdames J. Eliot, black silk velvet; K. Noble, black satin beaute, touches of gold and red; E. Clifton, lemon frilled taffeta; M. McKay, 1 moonlight blue satin; A. R. McNae, brown I crepe and fur jacket; Swift, floral inarocain and fur cape: McNichol, navy floral georgette; Harland, brown floral crepe; T. K. McLean, gold rucked taffeta; W. McKay, navy blue sparva crepe; N. K. Gould, wine marocain; S. Gould (Wanganui), green patterned marocain; Misses Dawn London, scarlet crepe; Jean London, shell pink taffeta: P. Swift, gold metal cloth; P. Pratt, Marina blue taffeta and silver; S. Prujcan, mermaid blue shimmer satin; E. Oockburn, pale pink georgette and organdie; A. Kraiger (Rangiwahia), pink satin and lace; M. Mawhinney, green taffeta; Iv. Maine, floral silk. PERSONAL. | Mrs S. H. Gould, of Wanganui, is tho ; guest of Mr and Mrs N. K. Gould. Mr and Mrs J. R. Qsborne spent the weekend visiting friends in Palmerston North.
