HAMILTON MAN FINED. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, Nov. 21. Pleading guilty to a charge of using premises as a common gaming-house, Gabriel Bossad, aged 37, was fined £SO by Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. The police evidence showed that accused had taken £54 12s 6d in “doubles” on Saturday and not one had won. while another slip of paper showed £sl 14s had been taken in bets. CHARGE OF BOOKMAKING. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 21. Edward George Nunns, stated bv counsel to be only an agent, but by the police to be carrying on in a fairly large way, was to-day fined £SO for bookmaking. : “He is a man with eleven children, said counsel, “seven of whom are whollv dependent on him.” The alternative was fixed at two months’ imprisonment. Nunns had two previous convictions on similar charges.
