MANAWATU SOCIETY. At a general meeting of shareholders of the Manawatu Co-operative Building Society Mr G. G. Priest presided. The following appropriations were decided: — ~ Ballots.—No. 1 group, £7OO, Mrs M. M Young Palmerston North; No, 2 group, £SOO, Mr C. S. Capill, Taihnpe; No. 3 group, £6OO, Mrs E. J. Mills, Feilding; No. 6 group, £7OO, Mrs A. Brewer, Wellington. Sales: No, 4 group, £7OO, at £ls per £100; No. 6 group, £6OO, at £2O pet £100; No. 7 group £2OO, at £32 10s per £IOO, and £3OO, at £32 10s per £IOO, A meeting of the board of directors was • held subsequently, when the following were present; —Messrs 1 nest (chairman), G. B. Cope and J. J. O’Shea. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs W. Ward and G. Pattle. , A loan of £6OO was placed upon fixed deposit in No. 1 group pending purchase of property by a shareholder, in No. 2 group £SOO was finally approved; m No. 4 group £SOO was approved; in No, 6 group £7OO was finally approved for building purposes. In No. 7 group £SOO was placed upon deposit pending the completion of the purchase of a dwelling by a shareholder. A further allotment of 30 shares was made in this group.
