WILL RETIRE SOON.
LONDON, September 1. Mr John McCormack, the world-fam-ous tenor, says lie will retire soon from the concert platform. ‘*‘l do not feel an oldman/ he says, “but I want to finish before people say. ‘What, is he still singing?’” Mr McCormack was born at Athlon®, Ireland, and was 54 on June 14. He has sung in practically every country . in the world. He became a naturalised American in 1919.
