SEARCH FOR OIL.

Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 31. No comment was made by Mr. A. A. Weymouth, who is superintending the New Zealand Petroleum Co.’s geological survey of Taranaki, when interviewed to-dav concerning the statement by the Minister of Mines (Hon. P. C. Webb) yesterday, that the most comprehensive survey ever undertaken in the oil search in the province would shortly begin. A geophysicist would arrive by the next Pacific liner and would come dircot to Taranaki to co-operate with the geological parties, said Mr Weymouth, but he had not been advised of his name or the nature of his plan of operations.
