Florence Mills, a brilliant speedster who started off last season with three successive wins, but was later prevented by adverse circumstances from repeating this form at the Auckland and Trentham fixtures, is likely to keep her opposition very busy this term. Limulet, who won the Novice Race at Warwick Farm on Saturday, is by Limond from Anklet, so he and Royal Order, who won at Williamstown, are full relatives. Limulet is owned by Dr C. Nigel Smith, of Sydney, who purchased him at the Trentham sales from the Koatanui draft for 7Oogne.. Anklet has proved a top-notch
matron, as all her stock are winners, and an earlier colt, Garter Knight, who came to an untimely end, was looked upon as a real smasher. Anklet ‘is by Absurd from Bronze. Limulet is in tho Derbies. Awapuni Duel Repeated.
When Stretto and Royal Qliief clashed in the Warwick Farm Stakes, won on Saturday by the former, they repeated the duel they had in the Awapuni Gold Cup last autumn, but on this occasion Gold Rod intervened for second place from Royal Chief. Stretto established a race record in beating the latter home by a length in the Awapuni Gold Cup, and this was the first time they had met since. It takes a horse of champion class to win the Warwick Farm Stakes.
