(From Our Own Correspondent.) HALCOMBE, Aug. 29. The following is the golf draw for ladies’ day: Miss E. McLennan and Miss P. Blunden, Miss V. Blunden and Mrs W. Davies, Mrs L. Fergusson and Mrs IC. Cowdrey, Mrs J. Fergusson and Mrs R. Anderson, Mrs Amadio and Mrs Lock, Miss O. Fergusson and Miss J. Fergusson, Mrs J. Young and Mrs N. Ball, Mrs N. Anderson and Mrs R. Managh, Mrs Ashworth and Mrs Nicol, Mrs Owen and Mrs O. Nairn, Miss M. Anderson and Mrs O’Sullivan, Miss Beattie and Mrs F. Cowdrey, Mrs Rcntaid and scorer. The winner of last week’s stroke competition was Miss J. Fergusson, whoso scoro read SO —18—52. The most interesting ''event in men’s golf lately was the final of the senior championship, which was played between G. Bevan and J. O’Sullivan over 36 holes. For the firet 18 holes play was very oven, the players being all square at this stage. However, Bevan’s steadiness in the second round was too much for his opponent, who was beaten 6 and 4. Bevan’6 last 18 holes were played in 90. Stableford bogey competitions were played on the last two club days, K. Fergusson (41) winning the first and B. Bevan (44) the second.
Mr W. H. Harris, acting on the advice of his doctor, is spending a holiday in Sydney. Mr E. R. Long, headmaster of the local school, is on holiday in the north. Miss M. Wernham, of the Tokorangi School, is spending the vacation with her parents in Auckland. Miss McGrath and bliss McLaren, of the Halcombe School staff, arc both away for the holiday period. Mr and Mrs N. Amadio, of Ruahino, are staying with Mrs Amadio’s parents, Mr and Mrs T. Green, of Tokorangi. Mr and Mrs J. Dais, who have resided in Halcombe for several years, arc now living in Stanway.
