BUSH RUGBY.

In a Rugby football match for the Cowan Cup, Hamua beat Mangatainoka by 14 points to 6. The teams were:—

Mangatainoka.—V. Brown, J. McDougal, J. Tait, G. Field, R. Biddle, B. Bradbury, E. Lett, T. Upston, T. Harvey, K. Sharnlin, I. Compton, S. Wliangoa, G. Cotter, J. Aplin, G. Forbes.

Hamua.—S. Wolland, D. Wolland, C. Mitchell, J. Cavanagh, O. Davies, D. Luke, P. Monoghan, B. Minnett, A. Broome, H. Cooper, B. Hansen, J. Morehu, L. Bailey, J. Tredway, J. Davies.

A good movement by Hamua enabled Morehu to pick up'the ball and cut in and throw a good pass to Mitchell, who passed to Luke, who kicked across to Davies. A pass to Monoghan gave him a clear run for the goal-line. Davies failed to convert. Mangatinoka were awarded a free kick five yards inside the twenty-five. Lett took the kick and placed the ball over the bar. Tredway picked up the ball and, with a good turn of speed, went for the line to score. Tredway took the kick, but failed to convert. A free kick was awarded Mangatinoka and K. Lett was successful. Hamua pressed hard and O. Davies picked up to force his way over the line. J. Davies converted. Play was carried back and Cooper successfully took a free kick awarded to Hamua.

Mr R. W. Foss presided over a meeting of the executive of the Bush Miniature Rifle Association, when the team to represent Bush in the return match .against Wairarapa, at Masterton, on Wednesday, was approved as- follows: A. Tait, J. Day, J. D. Thomson, S. Aanensen, A. J. Lysaght, W. G. Rising, R. Day, Mrs R. W. Foss, L. J. Heayns, H. Gardner, H. Ebbett, f H. Grubner, W. Keast, L. J., Rusdeh, J. Sargent, F. Ebbett, P. Maurice, R. W. Foss, C. Garlick and R. Yewen. Emergencies, M. Walker, K. Pryde, \V. Feasey, T. Daken, and G. Day. After a discussion on the question of the North v. South fixture, it was decided that the Mangamutu Club be included in the south team this year (owing to the Nireaha Club not competing) together with Konini and Hukanui, the north team to consist of the Makomako and Mangatainoka Clubs.
