QUIET TRADING.
AUSTRALIAN STOCK EXCHANGES. SYDNEY, Aug. 25. On the Sydney Stock Exchange today investors were still content to trade quietly. Prices of most industrial issues were very steady. Sales included:—Bank of New South Wales, ex div., £3l 2s <3d; Com. Bank of Sydney, £2O 9s; Com. Bank of Australia, 16s 6d; National Bank, £5 paid, £6 12s; British Tobacco, £2 9s; Tooheys, Ltd., New Zealand delivery, £1 12s 6d; Australian Glass, £4 13s 9d; Dunlop Perdriau, £1 Is 10-ld; David Jones, £1 19s; Kandos Cement, £1 6s • Mort’s Dock, 12s 3d, New Zealand delivey, 12s 3d; Amalg. Wireless, paid, £3 us, contr., £2 15s 6d ; Ilackshalls, Ltd., 14s 3d; Woohvorths, Ltd., £1 Is 6d, second pref., £1 8s 9d; Standard Cement, £1 2s 6d; Goldsbrough Mort, £1 8s lOd; Mount Lyell, £1 8s 3d ; Bulolo Gold, £7 Is 6d; Placer Development. £3 17s; Emperor Gold, 13s. MELBOURNE, Aug. 25. On the Stock Exchange the turnover was still restricted. Dunlops wore firmer in anticipation of the forthcoming dividend announcement. Bank stocks were still popular. Sales included :—Commercial Bank of Austr., 16's sd; E.S. and A. Bank, £5 2s 6d; Drug Houses, £1 6s 4d; Dunlop-Per-drialu, £1 2s Id; Cox Bros., 17s 6d; Melbourne Investment Trust, 10s 6d; Felt and Textiles, £1 13s 6d; Imperial Chemicals, pref., £1 Is 9d, 10s paid. 11s 6d; Mount Morgan, 11s Id; Mount Lyell, £1 8s 3d; South Broken Hill. £1 11s 3d; Emperor Gold, 12s lOd; Loloma Mines, £1 3s 4Jd.
