MUNICIPAL GASWORKS

NEW MANAGER APPOINTED. The WoodviJle Borough Council, last evening, unanimously appointed. Mi AV C H Pedersen, of the Wellington Corporation’s gasworks, Miramar, manager of the gasworks. Mr Pedersen has been 12 years in his present position. He previously had extensive experience at the Ashburton and >\ al " mate gasworks, and in all departments of the business he holds splendid qualifications. He will enter upon his new duties at an early date. A special meeting of the .council was held last evening, the Mayor (Mr it. R. Johnston) presiding, and Crs. ti. Galbraith, J. T. Horne, J. Sullivan, E J Harding, A. Olsson, G. Forbes and A. H. Hustwick were also present. Mr Pedersen attended by invitation of the council. The successful applicant’s father has also been engaged in the industry for many years.
