'PLANES FROM CANADA
BRITISH REPRESENTATIONS. MONTREAL, Aug. 23. An agreement between the British air mission and Canadian aircraft manufacturers for the production of Royal Air Force ’planes in the Dominion is reported to be near. Sir Hardman Lever (head of the mission) promises a decision within a few days. Meanwhile, tho New York Herald states that it is learned from reliable sources that French interests, believed to be sponsored by tbe French Government, have completed plans lor the erection of a large aircrait plant near Montreal.
The Herald comments that th’-s move follows tho recent Franco-Britieh General Staff conversations.
The plant is intended primarily as a reserve source of supply for * the French Air Force. The land Las already been purchased.
