Mr and Mrs I. Kane are Palmerston INorth visitors to Wellington. Miss Vena Berryman has returned from a South Sea Islands cruise.

Mr and Mrs J. Wynne-Jones, of Margaret Street, have returned to Palmerston North after a visit to Tongariro National Park.

( Miss Noeline Oakley, of Rainfortli Street, has returned to Palmerston North after a holiday spent in Sydney. Mr and Mrs W. H. Perry, of “Highden,” have returned home from a visit to Java and Singapore. Mr and Mrs J. B. Bradley, of Feilding, have returned from a visit to Australia.

Miss Yvonne Levvey, of Christchurch, who has recently been on an Islands trip, is the guest of Mr and Mrs R. H. Billens, of College Street, Palmerston North.

Miss Alyra Billens, M.A., of the staff 9f Craighead Diocesan School, Timaru, is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr and Mns R. H. Billens, of College Street, Palmerston North. The eighth birthday of Princess Alargaret Rose, younger daughter of Their Majesties King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, was celebrated yesterday. Princess Margaret Rose was born on August 21, 1930, being four years younger than her sister, Princess Elizabeth, who was born on April 21, 1926.

Mrs E. Wilso.i. a member of the teaching staff of College Street School is retiring and intends to live at Hastings. On Friday Mr L. J. Plank (headmaster) presented her with a chromium bedroom clock on behalf of the staff, and the children presented her with a crystal vase. Mrs Wilson lias been on the staff at College Street -for two years.
