SOUTH AUSTRALIA BEATEN. ADELAIDE, Aug. 20. The Indian soccer team to r day gave a delightful display of fast, tricky football to beat South Australia by 6 goals to 1. With the exception of Lumsden, who scored three goals, Rebelles and McGuire, the Indians played with bare feet. Lumsden proved himself a wonderful goal kicker. ENGLISH SEASON STARTS. FRIENDLY GAMES PLAYED. LONDON, Aug. 20. The English soccer season started a week earlier than usual, the teams playing friendly games on behalf of the league’s £IOO,OOO jubilee fund, which is intended to assist players and officials. Half a million spectators paid £22,000 in gate money.
