CONCESSION TO ITALY
RECOGNITION OF ABYSSINIA. INDUCEMENT OVER SPAIN. TALK OF EMPIRE ACTION. (United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received July 2, 11.45 a.m. LONDON, July L The Australian Associated Press sayslt is hoped here that if Italy implements the Anglo-1 talian Agreement by an early withdrawal of volunteers from Spain, the Dominions will agree simultaneously with Britain to concede de jure recognition of Abyssinia as a gesture of Empire unity. It is understood South Africa will be agreeable to recognition, and it is believed Australia will fall in line with Britain, but New’ Zealand’s attitude is undefined.
