PACT OF FRIENDSHIP
TURKEY AND FRANCE. ALEXANDRETTA QUESTION. SETTLEMENT REACHED, (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received July'2, 0.35 a.m. PARIS, July 1. Negotiations between the Frenoli and the Turks have resulted in a pact of friendship and a military agreement ensuring the internal security of the Sanjak of Alexandretta on the basis of parity of the French and Turkish troops stationed there. The two Powers have 'also agreed to a declaration of collaboration relating to frontier questions in Asia Minor. The pact is valid for six months, after which it can be renewed. Strained relations developed between the Turks and the French at the beginning of last month, vlien a Turkish army assembled on the Fran-eo-Syrian frontier. Previously Turkey had sent what was virtually an ultimatum to march into the, Sanjak of Alexandretta unless France conceded control of the area.
