FOXTON SUB-BRANCH.
’The sixteenth annual report of the Foxton sub-branch states, inter alia:— “The year has been very successful, and the work of the society has progressed steadily. Our financial state is very sound, and in this connection we must again thank the Macarthy Trust for its continued support. We arc pleased to report Nurse Lockwood is still our regular nurse, and it is largely owing to the capable manner in which she carries out her duties that we attribute our successful year. Mothers have become to rely on Nurse Lockwood’s experience, and respect her advice.” The number of new cases and visits to the office, states the report, show a gratifying increase on last year’s figures. “Whilst office box returns remain the same, subscriptions show an increase of 100 per cent, and although at that time • there was a number of unemployed in Foxton owing to the closing of the mills, the response from the public to the shop day was more satisfactory than for several years.” Thanks are extended to all who have helped the branch.
