ITALY WILL TAKE REVENGE

PARIS, June 27. French opinion is preoccupied over Italy’s reaction to the Loyalist threats of reprisals, but it is believed the situation is easing. Press comment follows party lines, but agrees as to the necessity of urging moderation between Spain and Italy. The Italian Charge d’Affaires has warned the Quai d’Orsay that, if even the Italian ships in General- Franco’s ports are attacked, the reaction will be prompt and effective. Signor Gayda, the Italian official writer, states that if Italian and German ships or goods are harmed, the implacable reaction will not be Notes, but guns.
