COUNCIL AND,CHURCH. Further reference was made, at a meeting of the City Council Last evening, to the proposed exchange of land between the St. Andrew’s Church trustees a.nd the council. It was stated in the ■ works committee’s report that Messrs Cooper, Raplpy ana Rutherfurd had written' in reference, to the proposed exchange of . land and had pointed out that the strip to be transferred to the ''council was covered by part of a building which was now occupied by the Police Department, while the strip of the council’s land to be transferred to the church trustees was partly occupied by the Opera. House garage. It had been resolved to advise the city solicitors that the matter would be referred to again when the schoolroom was vacated by the present tenants, and that a copy of their communication would be forwarded to the Deacons’ Court of the Presbyterian Church. ■ The report was adopted.
