WOODVILLE & DISTRICT

CYCLE .RACE. F. Wilson, of Danrievirke, was the winner of - a 22-mile cycle race at Woodville on Saturday. He covered the distance in 61min. 46sec., and, winning by a wheel, put up the fastest time, from scratch. A brother, R Wilson (Ifmin.) was placed second, while W. Adams (Pahiatua, 2 min.), came third, and N. Adams, of the same town, fourth. There were 12 competitors. Prior to this event, a boys’ race was also run, there being 21 entries. The course was four miles, and the result was: H. Stubbings (lOsec.) 1, J. Seed (scr.) 2, W. Smith (50sec.) 3, R.. Fulton 4. Time, lOmin. losec. Seed made the fastest time, lOmin. 7sec. The races were conducted by the Amateur Athletic Club, and the officials were: Starter, Mr J. Scott; timekeepers, Messrs Scott and vt. Adams; judges, senior, Mr C. bmitn; boys, Mr R. Hurdle.
