MILITARY APPOINTMENT.

COLONEL G. G. W 7 ATERHOUSE. LONDON, June 23. The King has. approved the appointment of Colonei G. G. Waterhouse as Inspector-General qnd Military Adviser to the Ministry of Defence for the British military mission attached to the Iraq Army. The appointment is to take effect about August with tho rank of major-general, vice the late Major-General H. W. M. Watson.

Colonel Waterhouse has had a long, valid varied career. In 1910-13 lie was employed on a survey in Nigeria, and in 1913-15 he was instructor at tlie Royal Military Academy, Woolwich. Ho served in the Great War in France and Salonika, and . passed the Staff College, Camberley. in 1919. In 1931 he was appointed military attache in Paris and was with the British military mission to Iraq from 1934-37.
