FOXTON CLUB’S FIXTURE.

TO-MORROW’S MEETING. GOOD RACING ASSURED. (By “Spectator.”) The Foxton Racing Club will hold its winter fixture to-morrow, and excellent fields have been accepted for in their engagements. Several of those engaged had a race at the local meeting last Saturday and form is fairly well exposed. Providing the weather keeps fine there should be a most successful gathering. Betting will be on the single" pool system. A review of the carded programme is as follows: — 11.45 TRIAL STAKES, of £IOO. Six furlongs..

Good 'beginners will command most attention in the Trial Stakes. Some of those engaged are newcomers and there may be a surprise in store. Flying Acre was in a place at Wanganui, and Irish Orders showed speed while her condition lasted. Rowana has been racing in hack class, and in this race may be hard to beat. Other possibilities arc Shining Hours, Gold Band, Stargono, Koura Rua and Quexona. When .the totalisator closes the public fancies may be: Rowana, Flying Acre, Shining Hours. 12.30 POROUTAWHAO ' HURDLES, of £145. One mile and five furlongs.

Gaily won on the first day at Wanganui, and Good Sun raced well at Wairarapa during the Easter carnival. Kena ran second at Manawatu after being slow away. Aiwai has two recent fourths to her credit and will appreciate the lower "scale of weights. Quadroon was second to Groat Hope at" Manawatu in a shorter event and may improve. Terry has" not raced for some time. Galteemore has placed form in hack races, -but Davistock has shown no form. King Mestor has a later engagement. In a good betting pool tho favourites oh the totalisator may bo: Aiwai, Quadroon, Kena. 1.65 HIMATANGI HACK HANDICAP, of £125. Six furlongs.

Tho Himatangi Hack Handicap has drawn a large field and barrier positions may play an important part in the race. The topweight, Rotoma, has not raced for some time. Those with the best form recently -are Short Circuit, Fafner, Min Lu, Haile Selassie, Gay Hunting, Advance Plane, Silver Fox, and Sporting Gift. Daisy Chain may be tho most likely of the others. Those who may be considered by the public are: Short Circuit, Min Lu, Sporting Gift. 2.40

WHIROKINO HACK AND HUNTERS’ STEEPLECHASE, of £125. About two

Red Sun heads the list .for the steeplechase and is a good weight-carrier. Artful Dodger has a prior engagement. Ruenzori may improve on his Awapuni running, but Croydon has not been seen in publio for some time. Power Chief may be a firm favourite after his win at Awapuni last Saturday. Of the lower down horses those who make most appeal are Lady Callaghan and- Burghley. In a good race the following may be most fancied :

KEBBELL MEMORIAL HANDICAP, of £l5O. Seven furlongs.

The Kebbell Memorial has also drawn an even field with Alunga as topweight. On his running Debham may not be considered. Mea Mea- was a good hack .and' is well up to the class. Old Surrey has good track form. Reipar ran fair races at 'Wanganui, '■ while Erebus was third at Awapuni. Of the lightweights Lady Montana may prove the best. Those who may be prominent are: Mea Mea, Erebus, Old Surrey. 4.0- / ’

The concluding event will be the medium of a good pool. Puroto ha 6 won

at his last three starts. Galteemore has an earlier engagement but should run well if started here. Son and Hair was a good second at Awapuni. Maahanui and Perfect Idea have run fair races. The distance may trouble most of the remainder. When the toalisatpr closes the most support may come for: Puroto, Perfect Idea, Son and lieir.
