GIFT EVENING.
A happy crowd gathered at the Orient Hall on' Monday evening last, the occasion being a gift evening to Miss Lottie Ward, who is to be married early next month. The hostesses were Mesdames F. Lima and D. Lloyd. The evening was spent in dancing to music supplied by Mr C. Lloyd at the piano and Messrs Bullen and D. Lloyd (piano accordions). Tap dances by Miss Jill Cullam, accompanied by Miss June Scott at the piano, were much appreciated, also songs by Master Len Carter. Miss Ward wore floral marocain with black lacquered satin coatee. After a dainty supper jiad been served. Mr D. Lloyd called upon the bride-to-be to accept numerous useful, gifts for her future home. Mr R. Hermanson thanked everyone present on • ehalf of his future wife. There were over 100 guests including visitors from Whakarongo, Levin, Wellington, and Auckland. The delightful evening concluded at a late hour with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
