BROADBENT’S FLIGHT.

LANDING AT CYPRUS. LONDON, April 21. Continuing his flight to England, Mill. F. Broadbent arrived at Basra at 6.40 a.m., Basra standard time. He left for Athens at 7.50 a.in. NICOSIA (Cyprus), April 21. Mr Broadbent landed at 3.40 p.m. (British standard time). Mr Broadbent is strenuously contesting Miss Jean Batten’s record of five days 18 hours from Darwin to England. At Allahabad he was only one and a-half hours behind Miss Batten’s time for the disianco When Miss Batten made her flight, last October, her time from Darwin to Allahabad was 2 days 8g hours. Mr Broadbent took about 2 days 10 hours. After covering the next stage, to Karachi, Miss Batten’s elapsed time was 2 days 16 hours 10 minutes.
