SPIRIT OF CONFIDENCE.

“LOYALIST’S WILL WIN.” BARCELONA, April 21. Lieut.-Colonel Peria, commander of the Eastern Republican Army, said: “I have always foretold that we would suffer some great defeat hut after that we would triumph. You will see I was right. A new spirit has sprung up in the last fortnight, and confidence has replaced defeatism. Now the enemy has been checked we will win. “I have been forced to shoot a number of officers who were tired of war, but the ranks have now been completely disciplined,” he added. Colonel Peria married a Londoner, Miss Amy Miller, in 1919, and has four sons in the Defence Ministry.
