PEACE AND DEFENCE.
LABOUR PARTY RESOLUTION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 21. The annual conference of the Labour Party to-day adopted the following resolution regarding peace, defence and war i—“The .conference re-affirms • the necessity of basing defence and international relations on the principle of the League of Nations and of c-ollec tive security, and expresses its firm support of the Government in urging the necessity of basing British international policy on these principles. In the meantime it pledges itself to support the Government in every step necessary to ensure adequate defence of the Dominion in its support of the defence of democratic principles and world peace,’ and urges the Government to institute and publish reports dealing with the causes of war and the best methods of promoting world peace through education by radio, cinemas and the newspaper press. ’
