THE CITY ROLL.

FOUR THOUSAND EXTRA NAMES. The city electors’ roll has now been placed in the hands of the printer and it was learned to-day that it is expected there will be at least 4000 extra names on the roll for the forthcoming municipal elections. The town clerk (Mr J. R. Hardie) said that the increase, in the main, was most probably accounted for by many persons enrolling- where before they had not, while an increase in the population of the city had also to be considered. At the last municipal election the number on the roll was 11,743.
