• 1 PIGS, POULTRY AND PRODUCE. The Dominion Auctioneering Coy., Ltd., Palmerston North, reports a slight improvement, in the price of pigs at their weeklysale held on Thursday, medium porkers realising up to 375, good slips to 13s 6d, and weaners to Bs. A medium entry of poultry was cleared at prices slightly below those ruling for last week. We quote: Pigs.—Best weaners, to 8s 6d; slips, to 13s 6d; porkers, from 29s to 37s each. Poultry.—Best W.L. hens to 4s per pair; light, hens, from 2s to 3s; 8.0. liens, from 4s to ,ss; cockerels, from 5s to 7s; light cockerels, from 3s 6d to 4s 6d; pullets, from 3s 9d to 6s 6d: ducks, from 3s to 5s 6d. Produce.—Tomatoes, from 4s to 14s per case; grapes, from Is to Is 4d per lb; apples, Cox’s Orange Pippin, from 5s to 7s 9d per bushel; Jonathans, from 3s to 5s per bushel; Delicious, from 3s to 5s per bushel; cookers, from 3s to 4s per bushel; pears, from 3s to 6s per J case; lemons, from 11s to 16s per case: cucumbers, from 6s to 10s per case; beans, from 5s to 10s per case; peas, from 3d to 4d per lb; lettuce, from 2s to 10s per case; cauliflowers, from 12s to 14s per sack; cabbages, from 11s to 17s per sack; carrots, from 2s to 3s per sugar bag; parsnips, from 3s 6d to 4s 6d per sugar bag; potatoes, from 4s 6d to 6s per cwt; pumpkins, from 5s to 7s per sack; marrows, from 2s to 3s per case; kumeras, from 5s to 7s per bag; rhubarb, from 4s to 6s per dozen; spinach, from 3s to 6s per case; beetroot, from Is to 2s 6d per ease.
