STORY IN COURT.

CASE AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 21. The story of a jaunt from Auckland to Wellingon on money stolen on the waterfront was told in the Police Court to-day, when Gordon Robert Edwards, aged 22, a quarter-cast Maori , from Kaitaia, pleaded guilty to the I theft on April 'l of £3O, the property of Charles Madley. The police said Edwards fell in with a boy who had deserted from a ship, and they co-operated in a plan to steal the money from the mate of the trawler Coastguard. They travelled to Wellington where, it was alleged. Edwards took £ls from the boy while he was asleep. They met again on the train. The boy threatened to hand Edwards over to the police, and they thereupon set out to share the money until it was finally exhausted. The Magistrate remanded Edwards for a week because the boy has finally to be dealt with in the Police Court.
