MOTOR-CYCLING.

DISTRICT SUCCESSES. A number of motor evelists from the Manawatu district participated in race meetings at Gisborne and Ruatoria during Easter. IT. Collison (Palmerston North) was a competitor in the New Zealand middleweight championship at Gisborne, but he had to retire with engine trouble while in a. good position. E. P. Petty (Fei'ding) was second in the four-mile Novice Handicap, and Collison was second in the Waikanae Handicap. At Ruatoria J. Dougins (Levin) won the Matnluia Handicap, H. W. Tolley being third. Tolley was second in the New Zealand open championship.
