BUNNYTHORPE INSTITEUTE.
Owing to the wet weather there was only a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Bunnytliorpe Women’s Institute, Mrs Jackson presiding and extending a welcome to all visitors and members. The delegates appointed to attend the annual federation meeting next week are Mesdames B. Williamson and It. Donald. A very interesting letter was read by Mrs Jackson from the president of the link institute in Salisbury, England. A surprise item in the form of a song was rendered by the committee and was appreciated by all present. Mrs Jackson and Mrs Faulkner were presented with Easter egg bouquets by little Margaret Jepsen. Mr W. A. Waters, of Palmerston North, gave a talk on his travels in Australia, which all present thought very interesting. Mr Waters was accorded a vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served and brought a very interesting afternoon to a close. The demonstration for next month will he hairdressing, and the sales table will contain plants, vegetables, etc. The -'competition will be for two kinds of assorted eggless biscuits and the best bloom. The winners of last month’s comnetitions are as follow: Best bloom, Mrs Burrell 1, Mrs Robson 2; tomato sauce, Miss J. Sinclair 1, Mrs Nix 2; nutumn berries, Mrs Armstrong 1, Airs Nix 2.
