NORTH WELLINGTON FEDERATION. A meeting of the executive committee of North Wellington Federation of Women’s Institutes was held m Palmerston North yesterday, Miss M. Grant presiding. Symons (Foxton), H. J. Barnmoat (Ivimbolton) and W. G. Short (Cheltenham). There was an apology tor absence from Mrs V. Short (FeiJdThe secretary of the Manawatu A. and P. Association wrote soliciting help for children’s day .at the Winter Show.—The secretary is to reply that all that is necessary will he gladly forthcomings A letter of appreciation was received from Miss H. M. Saunders, general secretary of the Y.W.G.A. ten the assistance of the executive towards the Easter camp for Girl Citizens at Foxton. The writer stated that it was only through the co-operation and generous assistance of public-spirited bodies such as the Women’s Institute that the Y.W.C.A. was able to carry ou its work for the benefit of the young people of the community. Details in connection with the winter Show display of preserves and specified crafts were considered, arrangements to he finalised at the annual council meeting. Consideration was given to the resolutions for the general meeting in July, and also to the annual council report. Permission was granted the Sanson Institute to hold their annual drama competition in June. Invitations were received to the annual council meetings of Wanganui and Ruapehu Federations, regret be-

ing expressed that these gatherings clashed with that of North Wellington. Regret was expressed that Mrs McCorkindale, a vice-president, and Mrs Drew, who have done signal service for the federation, were not seeking re-election to the executive, appreciation of their work being placed on record. Twenty nominations were received for the committee of twelve. The president expressed appreciation of the loyal co-operation of committee members throughout a busy year.
