PIPE BAND CONTEST.

The 1938 Dominion pipo band contest closes to-night with tho presentation of the B grade test selections in tho Opera llouso, commencing at 3 p.m. Between the selections an exhibition of gymnastic tumbling will be given by members of tho Y.M.C.A. Mr W. Allan will also give some eccentric dancing items. At the conclusion of the selections, tho presentation of trophies to the B grade bands will be made by the Mayor (Mr A. E. Mansford), assisted byMrs Mansford. As a grand finale to a wonderfully successful contest, the committee has organised a wind-up dance to be held in the Cosmopolitan Hall, Cuba Street commencing at 8.30 p.m. No efforts have been spared to make this dance a function worthy of so great, a content, and visitors can be assured of a royal welcome, an excellent evening’s dancing and a firstclass supper.
