FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB.

TRACK IN HEAVY CONDITION. LARGE CROWD ATTEND. The weather conditions for the concluding dav of the Feilding Jockey Club’s meeting to-day were somewhat uncertain. Although the morning vas fine, prospects of a good day were not bright, and throughout the forenoon conditions were cold and unsettled. At noon, however, there was an improvement, with occasional bursts of sunHeavy showers throughout last night had the effect of making the track on the heavy side again. No rain was experienced yesterday, but there was little sunshine, and any drying of the course would be offset by last night s heavy rain. . . The attendance was large, and with good fields carded the day proved an interesting one. TAUMAU IMPROVES. SUCCESS IN HURDLES. In the Kimbolton Hurdles Taumau improved on. his fourth placing o Saturday to score a comfortable victory, although Begorrah, the favourite, made a strong challenge in the St Artful Dodger, Taumau and Lustra) were first to show out, and crossing the top Lustral went to the front from Taumau and Mozeltove, the held being well stretched out. This was the order into the straight the first time except that Aurora’s Love had improved her position. Lustral almost ran off at the same place as that at which he lost his rider on Saturday and it was at this fence that Iddo jumped into the lead. Down the back Taumau went to the front again and was well clear of Auroras Love and Iddo. Into the straight Taumau showed the way to Begorrah, who had come up fast, firigadore starting to move briskly Taumau retained the lead and won bv a length from Begorrah, with the ‘fast finishing Brigadore four lengths further back. STAKES TO COLINCAMPS. A COMFORTABLE WIN. Th Waiata Stakes, in which all started, proved a good thing for Colincamps wno, although last away, came down the straight with a comfortable lead to win by one and a-half lengths under a hold from Pursuit. Rolling Home and Merry Thought were first to the front and when the field settled down Merry Thought had the lead from Rolling Home, Pursuit, Lady Whetu and Colincamps. Into the straight Pursuit had charge from Merry Thought and Colincamps, but the last-named came with a great burst of speed to win. Pursuit was second and Rolling Home one and ahalf lengths further back third. The favourite, Merry Thought, had to be content with fourth placeCATALOGUE IN FORM. STRONG FINISHING RUN. Old Surrey and Lady Kyra were defections from the Easter Handicap, leaving seven runners. Catalogue found the improved going much to his liking and won in great style by three lengths from Siegmund, who also ran a greatly improved race. R Gaining. Big Dook and Clessamor were first away and passing the stand Clessamor had charge from Roaming, Catalogue, Siegmund, and Big Dook. This order was little changed entering the back, where Grateful came up fast to come on terms with Clessamor. Wotan was well back, last. Entering the straight Clessamor had a short lead over Catalogue, who was coming fast, and Grateful, and Siegmund came on the outside, but Catalogue went on to win almost as he chose from Siegmund, with Grateful one and a half lengths away third. Wotan finished fast in fourth place and then came Clessamor and Big Dook. WON BY A NOSE. NOTIUM TAKES THE SPRINT. Notium won the second leg of the double, the Denbigh Handicap, after staving off a challenge by Mittie, who looked like the winner 50 yards from the post. The favourite, Laughing Lass, was a bad last. Notium was first to show up, being followed by Laughing Lass and Aureus, but when they settled down Laughing Lass was well clear of Notium, Mittie and Aureus, with Matoru last. Along the top Aureus came fast on the outside and led into the straight from Laughing Lass, Matoru and Notium, who at this stage was going well. Notium drew away, hut Mittie challenged and had actually had a lead on the Lysander gelding, but faded out near the post to take second place a neck behind the winner. Aureus was third, three lengths away. bETAILED RUNNERS. KIMBOLTON HURDLES HANDICAP, of £150; second horse £SO. third horse £ls. About one mile and a-half and 130yds. 5 TAUMAU, Mr C.
