TUMULTUOUS WELCOME.

SOVIET EXPLORERS RETURN. MOSCOW, March 18. A tumultuous welcome was accorded the Arctic explorers, who were recently rescued from drifting icefloes. Thousands of workers, accompanied by bands, marched to 6 the station, carrying banners and flowers. The leader of the expedition (Professor Otto Schmidt) and M. Papanin, leader of the party which was stranded on an icefloe off Greenland, delivered addresses in the station square and then went to the Kremlin for the final celebrations.
