LAWN TENNIS
SCHOOLS’ TOURNAMENT. Throughout Saturday afternoon the annual secondary schools’ tournament was continued and, as it has not yet been completed, the finals will be played on Saturday next. Pupils participated from the Palmerston North Girls’ and Boys’ High Schools, Feilding Agricultural High School, Convent High School, Palmerston North Technical School a.nd Levin and Woodville District High Schools. Games wero played at the Girls’ High School through the courtesy of Miss E. Stephens (principal), and at the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Club’s courts through the courtesy of that club. Mr J. T. McDonald, chairman of the Manawatu executive, was supervisor, with Messrs j. Christie, C. C. Yates, L. I. Plimmer and ft. Irwin (Levin) rendering valuable assistance. In the boys’ section Palmerston North High School are likely to win the G. H. Bennett Cup, having IS points to their credit, their representatives being easily the outstanding players. The'concluding games in this section cannot affect the final result. In the following results, additional to those published on Saturday, C. stands for Convent. IV. for Woodville, L. for Levin.
