MANY BEQUESTS.
LATE MR LINDSAY BUICK. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 21. The total assets in the estate of the late Air T. Lindsay Buick, author and journalist, are estimated at between £14,000 a.nd £15,000, but after the payment of a few private bequests and other claims the residuary estate is expected to be between £II,OOO and £12,000. Under the' will the greater part will be held for payment of part of the income therefrom to the Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery and the Dominion Museum for the purchase of paintings, drawings, etchings, statuary and other works of art as the board shall consider worthy of acquisition and preservation. Mr Buick also left a private collection of paintings, some which are of high historical importance, to the Board of Trustees of the Art Gallery and Museum. the collection to be designated the Lindsay Buick bequest. The sum of £IOOO is bequeathed to Otago University for the purchase of books, manuscript, engravings and other material for the Hocking historical collection.
