TO JOIN LEGION.
YOUNG GERMAN DESERTER. LONDON, March 4. The Daily Telegraph’s Metz correspondent says that the German deserter, who was reported yesterday to have crossed the French frontier in a light tank lias gone to Marseilles to join the Foreign Legion. There is some conflict of opinion as to whether lie drove a tank or an armoured car. Anyway, he stopped three miles inside the frontier and, therefore, did not encounter the Maginot Line which is six miles from the frontier.
