FLYING-BOAT MISHAPS.
EFFECT ON AUSTRALIAN OPINION. LONDON, Feb. 21. The Air Ministry has instructed that the airscrew which fell from a Royal Air Force flying-boat in Melbourne be brought back to England, tvhero it will be examined, and an inquiry will he held. It is understood that it is likely that all the flying-boats will remain in Australia until repairs have been made to the damaged machine. Then all will leave for Singapore. The Air Ministry refuses to comment on any possible efFect the accidents to the flying-boats might have on Australian opinion of British machines. However, there is some concern in unofficial circles, where hopes are expressed that any Australian commentators will make full allowances for the rare nature of such an accident as the loss of an airscrew, which is practically unheard of in Britain.
