ABORIGINAL ARRESTED.

Received March 7, 11.55 a.m. DAIIAVIN, March 7. An aboriginal has been arrested and is alleged to have confessed to the assaults on the two white women on Thursday. A charge of having inflicted grevions bodily harm was preferred against the aboriginal. A message from Darwin on Friday last stated that two highly-respected white women had been brutally attacked by an aboriginal. This was the worst of a series of recent cases, and an intensive man hunt was in progress. After a fierce fight with the two women, one of whom went to the rescue of her neighbour, the aboriginal escaped. All the police in Darwin scoured the scrub for the fugitive and large numbers of townspeople assisted.
