TREASON TRIAL
BRITAIN INVOLVED. SENSATIONAL REFERENCES. RUSSIANS’ CONFESSIONS. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received March 5, 11.5 a.m. MOSCOW, March 4. Further sensational references to Britain’s alleged plotting in Russia were made to-day at the resumption of the trial of 21 prominent Russians. Pressed to explain the meaning of his statement that M. Rykoft' had guaranteed him independence in Bekistan under the protection of a foreign State, M. Khojaeff replied that it was England. He added that he tried to establish Bokhara as the centre of a buffer State between Russia and a British Republic. He astounded the Court at the vehemence of his confession, and said: “i am a traitor, spy, conspirator, wrecker, and defeatist working for a Fascist victory over Russia. We cut-throats planned to kill M. Voroshilov, instructed from Moscow Rightists. Wo planned to wreck White Russia and began spreading cholera amongst the cattle and killed 30,000 horses; also wo disaffected 100,000 peasants in order to rouse them against the Soviet.” Ho added that he maintained dose touch with the Polish General Staff in 1932 and helped to organise the Polish National Fascists, who worked with the Russian Rightists. •
