LEAGUE’S DECLARATION.

BRITAIN STILL ADHERES. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 2. Asked in the House of Commons if Britain still accepted the League’s declaration in 1932 to the effect that it was incumbent on members not to recognise any situation, treaty or agreement brought about by means contrary to the Covenant or the Pact of Paris, the Prime Minister (Mr Chamberlain) replied ill the affirmative. He added that, ns stated by Mr Eden in December, 1936, Britain was entitled in the application of this principle to take into account the necessity of adequately protecting British interests.
